Who We Are

Nmasinachi Charity Foundation

Lifting The Under-privileged

“Who will help, if not my brothers and sisters, wherever they are?” Nmasinachi Charity Foundation assists impoverished families, orphans, the elderly, widows, and widowers in Africa and Mecklenburg County. They are poverty-stricken with no one to turn to as they barely survive in one of the world’s poorest countries.

Our mission is to provide a voice for the voiceless, shelter for the homeless, medication and treatment for the infirm, food for the hungry, and clothing for those who are threadbare. Nmasinachi Charity Foundation is working to change their lives and future, from helping these wonderful souls meet essential needs to providing them with life-changing opportunities.

The Nmasinachi Charity Foundation is a proud member of the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce and World Medical Relief.

Meet Our Founder

Ms. Kelechi “KC” Nwanekwu is a native of Africa. She migrated to the United States of America in December 1999; and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her five children. Since arriving in the United States, KC has been determined to help anyone in need, even if it meant leaving her comfort zone. After becoming a US citizen, she used available resources to help families, especially orphans and widows, widowers, less privileged and senior citizens. Years later, KC returned to Africa; during this visit, she saw firsthand how the citizens of her continent were suffering.

Without hesitation, KC immediately took an interest in children and less privileged after she visited several orphanages and saw how terrible their living conditions were. After returning from her visit, she believed her purpose was found. She immediately inquired about adopting a child from one of the orphanages she visited. The process of adopting from a foreign country was tedious and financially straining. However, this did not stop her from completing the adoption. In 2014, she was able to adopt a 2-week-old baby boy and proceeded to bring him to the United States. After several doctor visits, it was determined that the child was autistic. This brought tears to her eyes because if this child were not adopted by her and brought to the United States, he would not be able to receive the medical attention he needed. Thousands of children and adults face similar or worse situations without an advocate or resources. Therefore, KC established the Nmasinachi Charity Foundation in 2020 in hopes that this foundation would advocate and provide resources for the voiceless.

“Nmasinachi Charity Foundation gives hope and security to the less privileged” “A foundation that is indeed my heart and will continuously aim to bring positive change to the underserved in Africa and Mecklenburg County”- KC Nwanekwu. But, as an individual, KC can only go so far with this mission. We must come together as a community to help further this cause. Will you help us put a smile on a face today?
